Roseway Theater

Probably my favorite part of living in the Roseway neighborhood is walking up to the Roseway Theater on the corner of 72nd and Sandy, to catch a movie.
The Roseway Theater was built in 1924 by a local Real Estate agent and grocer. It officially opened in August, 1924 showing West of the Water Tower. It was, and still is, one of the main focal points in the neighborhood. With seating for 330, the Roseway Theater is one of the few vintage single-screen theaters in the country equipped with a digital picture (including 3D), and sound system.
Check out this video, which takes you behind the scenes:
It is without a doubt one of the best theaters in Portland. Next time you want to go watch a movie, give the Roseway a try. You won’t be disappointed!
My name is Jeff Bernheisel.
