Roseway Bungalow Remodel – Week 1

Roseway BungalowMy wife and I purchased our home back in 2003. The market was great, and there were a ton of homes for sale in the Roseway neighborhood so we had plenty of choices. We ended up choosing a little 1923 bungalow that had all the qualities we were after in our first home, which for me was basically that it had a garage and a nice yard so that I could have a dog.

Well, it’s 7 years later, and we’ve decided that it’s time to upgrade our little house.  It definitely needed it!

Over the years, I’ve been able to do most of the little projects.  You know, the things that a guy with average skills can do. Fencing, new patio, replacing trim, a new front door, etc.  But what do you do when all the little projects are done, and all that’s left are the major jobs?  Yep, it was time to call in the pros!

We’re pretty much completely rebuilding the house from the inside out.  Updating literally everything along the way.  So, over the next couple months I’ll be documenting the project. Sharing the experience through photos and words.  In the end, we’ll have a brand new 1923 bungalow smack in the heart of our favorite Portland neighborhood.

What? You couldn’t live there during the remodel? :) Great posts! Always great to see the progress of remodels (especially gutted ones). BTW… awesome wood/glass cabinet that was in the living room (at least I think it was the living room!).
